Be your best, not the best.

Having the urge to be our best is something everyone one would love to be. However, most people tend to live by being the best. These two statements are totally different depending on a person and ofcourse one’s character.

Being our best simply refers to putting our full effort in doing something or a responsibility wholeheartedly. While being the best sorts for ‘a competitor spirit’. The urge to outweigh or be better than somebody else.

When we do our best, we will always be responsible people, taking each action as our own goal as well as owning the action itself. We take it as an obligation or a duty that we ought to do. It’s almost next to having the passion to perform a task. Additionally, there is always no reward promised by doing our best.

Being our best just like the nature

Unlike being our best, being the best brings out the outdo spirit. This sentiment always refers to those who want to get pushed or pressurized into carrying certain tasks. There is a promise for a reward, for instance when an employee is promised some promotion, they will strive to be the best so as to get that promotion. Being the best is always a dangerous personality trait to have, because when the ‘best’ is not achieved, the person gets frustrated and depressed. They then feel like a failure in life as a result of comparing themselves with other people by trying to be the best.

  1. This is so true. Sometimes we beat ourselves when we don’t become what we want to be. We often have a fixated opinion about what we should be and when that doesn’t come to be we end up frustrated. It is always best that we try to do our best and not push to be the best!
